Audio Mostly 2024

Audio Mostly is an interdisciplinary conference focusing on the interaction and design of sound. It combines applied theory and reflective practice and attracts participants from academia and industry. The annual conferences focus on the use of sound in various fields such as product design, auditory displays, computer games, virtual environments, musical instruments and teaching and working tools. The psychological, cultural and technical aspects of sound are also explored.

This year's theme, "Explorations in Sonic Cultures", invites an interdisciplinary discourse on how sound cultures influence human experience. This encompasses a wide range of sonic phenomena such as music, sound art, soundscapes and sound technologies to further the understanding of the role of sound in different cultural, historical and technological contexts.

The conference will feature discussions on cutting-edge research, innovative artistic practices and critical perspectives, and promote dialog between fields such as acoustics, sound art, media studies and musicology. Topics such as the cultural impact of sound, sonic identities, technological influences on sound production and the preservation of sonic heritage will be explored.
